MANILA – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has extended the deadline for the submission of bids for the P2.5-billion Integrated Transport System-Southwest Terminal project.
DOTC Undersecretary Jose Perpetuo Lotilla, in the agency’s General Bid Bulletin 13-2014, said the deadline has been moved to September 29 instead of August 3 with the issuance of the new concession agreement.
The extension will give the bidders of the proposed bus terminal more time to prepare their bid documents.
“In view of the changes in the project structure and in order to provide ample time to all prospective bidders to prepare their submissions, the deadline of submission of bids shall be set 30 days from the confirmation of the Special Bids and Awards Committee that the final set of tender documents has been uploaded in the data room,” Lotilla said.
“Upon the confirmation, the deadline of submission of bids set on Sept. 29 shall be moved accordingly through a subsequent bid bulletin,” he added.
The companies that expressed interest in the project are San Miguel Corp., Ayala Corp. and Ayala Land, Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., Robinsons Land Inc., D.M. Wenceslao and Associates Inc., Vicente T. Lao Construction, French-owned Egis Projects Philippines, Filinvest Land Inc., Megawide Construction Corp., State Properties Corp., and Expedition Properties Corp.
The proposed terminal will be located in a 2.9-hectare property at the Coastal Road Terminal along the Manila-Cavite Expressway.
It is envisioned to connect passengers coming from Cavite to other urban transport systems such as the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT) South Extension to Bacoor in Cavite, bus, taxi, and other public utility vehicles plying Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, five companies attended the pre-bid conference for the proposed P4 billion integrated transport system at the Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) compound in Taguig City.
These companies are San Miguel Corp., property giant Ayala Land Inc., Filinvest Group, Megawide Construction Corp., and Datem Construction.
Interested bidders have until Oct. 6 to submit bids to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the ITS-South Terminal designed to serve passengers coming from Laguna and Batangas.
