Esdevco's project to generate investors

MORE investors are expected to come to Davao City as the Escandor Development Corporation (Esdevco) jumpstarted its maiden project Matina Enclaves with a showroom blessing of its condo development: The Enclaves Residences Monday afternoon at Eco West Drive in Matina, Davao City.

Davao City Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre, committee chair for tourism, said in an interview with Sun.Star Davao after the blessing: "This new development will attract more investors to Davao City. Daghan man gud nagapalit ug condo units dili lang para puy-an, ang uban ilahang ginaparentahan o ginabaligya sad (Others buy condo units not to reside in them but they buy to rent or sell it)."

Alejandre graced the event with Davao City Vice-Mayor Paolo Z. Duterte, City Councilor Nilo Abellera, Jr., Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) commissioner Atty. Luis A. Paredes and HLURB regional director Atty. Miguel Palma Gil.

Matina Enclaves, for its part, was spearheaded by its president Glenn Escandor who was accompanied by his mother Violeta and brother Gerome with project director Gerald Garces during the blessing officiated by San Pedro Cathedral priest Rev. Elvie Bordios.

Alejandre also said that Esdevco's development project will not just lure investors but "will also provide more livelihood for Dabawenyos". He added that Davao City is privileged to have a homegrown developer like Esdevco to invest in such an ambitious multi-million project.

"Guwapo ang showroom, nindot ilang mga units (The showroom is great, the units are nice)," Alejandre replied when asked to comment on the showroom that features the 30-square meter studio-type, 54-square meter two-bedroom unit and 75-square meter three-bedroom unit.

Vice-Mayor Duterte, in a separate interview said, "I congratulate the Escandor family for investing in Davao City. Daghan na ang ga-invest diri tungod sa maayong peace and order program ni Mayor Rody (More investors are coming in to the city due to their confidence in the peace and order program of Mayor Rody Duterte)."

The vice mayor also praised the showroom, adding in jest, "If I have the money, I will buy one unit for myself. Wala man koy kwarta (But I don't have the money)."

Glenn Escandor, meanwhile, said the showroom blessing marked a formal introduction to their condo project.

"With guests such as Vice Mayor Paolo, HLURB commissioner and regional head, it also shows our commitment to its delivery and to gain the confidence of potential buyers and sellers through these respectable guests which is critical for us especially that this is the pilot project of Esdevco," Escandor said in a text messages to Sun.Star Davao on Tuesday.

Escandor, whose family also owns The Royal Mandaya Hotel that celebrated its 16th anniversary and the Davao Security and Investigation Agency, Inc. (Dasia) that celebrated its 42nd anniversary on Sept. 8, underscored the favorable response from Matina Enclaves' clients, sellers and investors.

He went on saying, "They appreciate the layout and interior finishes of our units. In fact in less than two months of promoting the project we have more or less blocked off approximately 20 percent of our total inventory through letters of intent."

Each high-ceiling unit has an urban look that gives one an exclusive cosmopolitan feel.

While the studio type has one toilet and bath room, the two-bedroom and three-bedroom units each has two toilet and bath rooms with one located at the masters bedroom that also has an inclusive walk-in closet.

Spacious dining and living areas give more room for family bonding and recreation for the two-bedroom and three-bedroom units. Its kitchen area already has built-in cabinets for easy access and safe-keeping of kitchen items and utensils.

Each unit also has a balcony for a relaxing time to breathe fresh air and enjoy the view of city life after a long day at work.

Garces said The Enclaves Residences will have six 104-unit, six-storey buildings. Two floors will be for parking area while the four other floors will each have 18 units - 10 studio-type units, seven two-bedroom units and one three-bedroom unit per floor.

Construction of the first building, according to him, will start first quarter of 2015 and will be finished middle of 2016.

Garces also said The Enclaves Residences is but one of the three residential options of Esdevco's premier mixed-use 5.3-hectare development project - the first of its kind in Davao City -- the Matina Enclaves. Matina Enclaves also has a one-hectare open lot development through its pocket development called The Plains and the house and lot units through another 1-hectare pocket development called The Courtyard.

At the heart of The Enclaves Residences, The Plains and The Courtyard will rise Matina Enclaves' amenity area called CAME (Clubhouse At Matina Enclaves), a two-storey buidling, that features a gym, kids' playroom, function / meeting room, basketball court, snack bar, a 25-meter lapping pool and a kiddie pool, playground, and a function hall at the second floor that can accommodate 150 guests.

Matina Enclaves will also have its neighborhood commercial development called Arqadia - proposed to have a boutique hotel, a wellness center, a membership gym and spa, coffee shop, among others.
